In December of 1955, Joseph P. McGlynn decided to take on a twice previously failed gas station. He chose a neighborhood location over a highway spot with the thought that providing exceptional service on a local level would be a foundation for building a loyal client base.

Fifty years later, Beacon Hill Auto Service still follows this same philosophy. His son, John McGlynn, came on in 1975—and is locally recognized as one of the area's finest auto technicians.
